doabarreljoel asked: vandoren reeds of any kind of pretty good, I use v12 (Gray box) model 3.5 for Bass Clarinet, my private teacher uses 3.5+ (between 3.5 and 4) on his Bb clarinet. Blue box vandorens are also pretty good, as well as Grand Concerts (those aren't Vandoren, might be more affordable if that's what you're looking for. Haven't used them myself but I've heard good things). Hope this helps!

I like V-12s and 56s. I bought a box or two of Grand Concert reeds once and I didn’t care for them at all. And half of them were either improperly stamped or were regular Rico Royals. Total ripoff.
