doabarreljoel asked: vandoren reeds of any kind of pretty good, I use v12 (Gray box) model 3.5 for Bass Clarinet, my private teacher uses 3.5+ (between 3.5 and 4) on his Bb clarinet. Blue box vandorens are also pretty good, as well as Grand Concerts (those aren't Vandoren, might be more affordable if that's what you're looking for. Haven't used them myself but I've heard good things). Hope this helps!

  1. callianneopolis said: I stopped using Vandorens, oddly enough. Currently, I’m on 3.5 Zondas or 3 Gonzales. Both of these are much cheaper and pretty good sounding! Vandorens are expensive and it’s always a gamble of whether any of them will work the way you want.
